Night Myst Indigo Court Book

The Story
Cicely Waters is a powerful witch and wind talker, she finally comes home to New Forest. Her home town has severely changed. Witches are disappearing including her aunt. Others are disappearing as well and the forest behind her house has been turned evil. Her cousin, Rhiannon, and Cicely work together to figure out what evil lives in the forest and work to get back the stolen witches. Cicely meets back up with the only man she has ever loved, Grieve. Their love is unbreakable, but Grieve Is enslaved in the enemy's court. With the Crimson Court and the Indigo Court waging war and using Cicely as a pawn everyone is in danger.

Thoughts
I liked this story. Yasmine writing style is unique. She weaves several different characters and plots together simultaneously. The pace was okay paced, slow in some spots, fast in other areas, but always intriguing. I read it all in one sitting. All the characters are unique and likeable. I enjoyed all the different plots and look forward to the next one Night Veil, summer 2011. All the details in this book made it memorable and unique!

  3. I love a book that doesn't have to spell it out to me. It being every detail in the bed room I have a very vivid imagination and wish these books were not XXX rated. Love the actual Story Lines. Awesome just leave out the smut.

  4. I really like Yasmine Galenorns Otherworld Sisters books. But with this series, you can tell she is growing as a writer. The first book in her other series Witchling, I barely got through, but they've improved with each book. This series however started out on a higher level. Great characters, interesting twists on the typical folklore. The plot is unique enough. I think I might like this series more than the other.

  6. For me it was a book to read and to let my fantasy run wild to be able to know when I put it down and stop reading for the night and when I get back to do it.after a stressfull day ..Simply for me to read and let my mind see it as it is ..to became part of the book.

  7. Having enjoyed the authors Otherworld series, I figured I'd give this new series a chance and I'm so glad I did. This series is less romantic, a bit more series and a lot darker than the Otherworld series, which is what I've always wished for the Otherworld series.

The love the "lite" apocalyptic feel this story has. The entire town is completely enshrouded by a strong supernatural force and is completely cut-off from the rest of the world. Not only that, as the supernatural beachhead strengthens, it is slowly but surely gaining a foothold throughout the planet.

The author successfully created a world where the monsters have free reign and are quickly spreading like an unstoppable virus. The forest/woods are dismal and gloomy with a feeling of danger and lurking around every corner.

This book kept me so completely riveted I felt like I never wanted it to end. Cicely is a strong heroine who is tough, unafraid to use her powers to kill when necessary and NOT too-stupid-to-live. I can't wait to see how she gets herself out of the web of trouble that continually entangles her.

I highly recommend this book to fellow dark urban fantasy fans and look forward to reading the next book Night Veil. For fellow SF fans, I would not categorize this book as SF-lite, however there is some time-travel involved.

    I also recommend:
    Darkfever (Fever Series, Book 1)
Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, Book 1)
The Shadow Reader (A Shadow Reader Novel)
On the Edge (The Edge, Book 1)
Witchling (Sisters of the Moon, Book 1)
